Perhaps I should not be the one to play the devil’s advocate on this issue. I am not a gamer in any sense of the word and have never been attracted to gaming on any level. Yet, Ubisoft has the right to produce any product that it believes will sell and enhance its brand. The new Assassin’s Creed game has been built upon the successful scripts and models of previous games, which, apparently, did not include female leads. Clearly, the writers and programmers of this installment decided not to use female protagonists as leads. This decision was probably motivated by economics. It makes no sense debate the decision in terms of “political correctness.” Let’s accept that fact that the company has no legal duty to be all inclusive in its story telling.
